Patrick Thiébart heads the firm’s Labor Law department.

Patrick Thiébart started his career as an associate with Kevorkian & Partners (1988-1991) before joining the firm Caubet Chouchana Meyer, where he became a partner in 1998.

A partner with Franklin since 2005, he and his team of legal experts are active in all areas of labor law (employment law, social security law and immigration law), at the national and the international level, advising French as well as foreign companies and institutions.

In particular, Patrick Thiébart has developed a recognized practice in the field of corporate restructurings (employment restructuring plans, management of labor aspects in mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, outsourcing…), negotiations with employee representatives and advice with respect to employee savings (profit sharing plans, stock option plans …).

He is also active in the field of individual and collective labor litigation and advises many clients before labor and social security courts. Finally, he has developed significant practice in immigration law, frequently advising British, US and Asian companies on employee secondment in France.

Patrick Thiébart is a member of several international labor law associations, including the American Bar Association, the American Employment Law Council and the European Employment Lawyers Association. He is a frequent lecturer in international conferences and regularly writes articles published in international labor law magazines.

    Representative matters

    Counsel to an English financial company in the transfer of employees from one legal entity to another including modifying collective bargaining agreements and renegotiating and/or introducing policies such as profit-sharing, working time, stock options scheme etc

    Reviewing the handbook of a US pharmaceutical company and adapting them to ensure its compliance with French legal requirements

    Counsel to a large US company active in the onshore and offshore drilling with respect to the implementation of a mass lay-off as a result of a restructuring of its French subsidiary

    Counsel to a French company specialized in cosmetic products in the preparation and implementation of a anti-harassment policy and assistance of the company in a lawsuit initiated by a manager dismissed on the ground of harassment.

    Managing a cross-border project for a Japanese company active in the semiconductor industry involving a mass redundancy in different EU countries.
