FRANKLIN more active than ever in international energy projects

The Public Sector Law/Projects Department led by Jérôme Michel is advising the Asian Development Bank, in consortium with RTE (the French electricity transmission system operator), Nord Pool Consulting AS, Power Planning Associates, CEERD and EDF CIH, on the legal and energy regulation aspects of the proposed development of the electrical infrastructure and local electricity trade in the Greater Mekong region.  The firm was also selected to advise Burundi, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda, with funding from the European Investment Bank, on the legal aspects of rehabilitating and reorganizing the management of hydroelectric plants in Ruzizi, in the African Great Lakes area.  As another example, the firm was selected to advise the Democratic Republic of Congo on reorganizing the management of the national electricity utility Société Nationale d’Electricité (SNEL).
