Franklin advises Imprimerie Mordacq on exit from administration

On 19 September, the Commercial Court of Boulogne-sur-Mer approved the plan to continue the activities of Imprimerie Mordacq on a class-by-class basis. This decision will save a century-old printing company based in Aire-sur-la-Lys and keep its 80 employees on the payroll.

Thanks to the support of its customers, the majority of its suppliers, the government, its banks and creditors, who voted overwhelmingly in favour of the plan, Imprimerie Mordacq will be able to continue its business and face the challenges of its industry.

As the last French printer to carry out a major investment plan worth 10 million euros in 2019 with the installation of two presses, the company has been hit by a significant increase in energy prices (a fivefold increase in its budget, up to 15% of its turnover) and a fall in volumes across the graphic arts industry in 2022/2023.

During the seven months of the procedure, Imprimerie Mordacq implemented several restructuring measures to optimise its industrial and commercial organisation, thus demonstrating its ability to return to profitability.

This process would not have been possible without the daily commitment of the 80 employees of this family business, the support of its suppliers and the loyalty of its customers.

With the support of its creditors, all the bodies involved in the procedure, the Commercial Court, the favourable opinion of the employees’ representatives and the public prosecutor, Imprimerie Mordacq is emerging from the receivership in a stronger position and will face the future with an undiminished passion for its business.

Imprimerie Mordacq is advised by Franklin with Numa Rengot, partner, Pierre Dupuys, of counsel, Margaux Chaumien and Marouan Fawzi, associates.

Imprimerie Mordacq was also advised by SLIGEC (Francis Druon, Juliette Lutyn), Grant Thornton (Clotilde Delemazure, Antoine de Chomereau, Frédéric Pena) and Pansard & Associés (François Delbecq, François Crequy), who acted as financial advisors.

BMA (Maître Laurent Miquel, Damien Thomas) acted as receivers.

Ruffin Mandataires et Associés (Maître Marion Ruffin, Amélie Chapelet) acted as legal representatives.
