Joël Rault, Senior Advisor at Franklin, appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Mauritius to France and several European states

Franklin is pleased to announce that Joël Rault has been appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Mauritius to the French Republic. Joël has been with the firm for several years as a Senior Advisor.
On 1 September 2025, he presented his credentials to President Emmanuel Macron of the French Republic, marking the start of his official term of office in Paris.

In his new role, Joël is also accredited to Italy, Portugal, Spain, and the Principality of Monaco. He will also represent the Republic of Mauritius at several major multilateral forums, including the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF), the Executive Council of the Bureau International des Expositions (BIE) and the OECD and FAO/OAA.

This prestigious appointment comes with temporary leave from his duties at Franklin. It illustrates his commitment to serving his country, as well as the strong bond he has with Franklin, to which he will return at the end of his mission.

A former Ambassador of Mauritius to France (2015–2017) and Special Advisor to the Mauritian Executive, Joël Rault has made a decisive contribution to Franklin’s international development, particularly through the Africa Desk and the consolidation of the firm’s cross-border relations.

Franklin welcomes this appointment and is proud to see one of its senior advisors called upon to serve at the highest diplomatic and multilateral level.
