Saving a company’s cash flow in the face of an employment tribunal ruling – Mayday, 23 June 2025

Can a buyer be weakened by a labour dispute that arose prior to the takeover? The Conciliation and Guidance Office (BCO), a labour court body, is responsible for provisionally settling disputes between employers and employees at the start of proceedings, pending a final judgement (wage claims, dismissal disputes). These provisional measures, which are intended to protect employees’ rights, may require the company to pay significant sums of money.
