Orléans Métropole has submitted an offer exclusively for the group’s intangible assets, namely the Brandt, Vedette, De Dietrich, and Sauter brands, as well as the Brandt Group’s patents and domain names.
With this initiative, Orléans Métropole is pursuing a twofold objective. On the one hand, it supports any project that enables the resumption of local industrial activity, thereby contributing to the re-employment of some of the workforce. On the other hand, as a secondary objective, the local authority wishes to position itself to acquire the brands and patents in order to prevent them from being taken over by a foreign player seeking to relocate the expertise of the Orléans region.
The terms and conditions of this offer were officially presented at the metropolitan council meeting on February 5, which approved the initiative. This is part of a broader strategy to safeguard the region’s industrial and intangible heritage, in a context of fierce competition between potential buyers.
Franklin is assisting Orléans Métropole in this operation with a team led by Numa Rengot, partner, and composed of Fanny Attal and Marouan Fawzi, associates, for restructuring aspects, Cendrine Delivré, partner, Andy Berrebi and Baptiste Guilberteau, associates, for public law aspects, and Sandra Strittmatter, partner, for intellectual property aspects.
