Franklin welcomes Arnaud Moussatoff as a partner Restructuring

Franklin announces the arrival of Arnaud Moussatoff as a partner within its Restructuring team. He is joined by Allan Ghosn, an associate.

Arnaud Moussatoff, aged 46, specialises in industrial and financial restructuring transactions, both in an amicable framework (ad hoc mandates and conciliation proceedings) and in judicial proceedings (safeguard and court-supervised restructuring proceedings). He assists underperforming companies in their negotiations with their shareholders, lenders and other partners, and advises directors on the development of legal and financial strategies for resolving the crisis. He also represents investors in distressed M&A transactions, with specific expertise in fiduciary mechanisms, and advises on cross-border restructurings, the protection of creditors’ interests vis-à-vis an insolvent debtor, and litigation relating to the law governing companies in financial distress.

Before joining Franklin, Arnaud Moussatoff practised at Brown Rudnick, where he was appointed partner in 2020, and subsequently at Squire Patton Boggs, where he had developed the Restructuring practice of the Paris office. He holds a DJCE and a DESS in business law and taxation from Université Lyon III and has been admitted to the Paris Bar since 2007. He is a member of the Association pour le Retournement des Entreprises.

Arnaud Moussatoff and Allan Ghosn are joining a team led by Numa Rengot, partner, and comprising Professor David Robine, Senior Advisor, Fanny Attal and Pierre Dupuys, Of Counsel, as well as four associates. Their arrival brings the team’s number of lawyers to ten: the Restructuring team. With a “full service” approach, it advises at every stage in the life of a distressed company with a view to its turnaround, from diagnosis and identification of reorganisation levers to the implementation of appropriate tools ranging from consensual pre-pack arrangements to court-supervised proceedings, including the management of distressed M transactions and ancillary litigation. It draws on the firm’s expertise in Corporate – M&A, banking and finance, tax law, employment law, public law, competition law and real estate law to provide its clients with comprehensive and fully integrated support. With two partners now working as a duo, the team intends to accelerate its development in large-scale transactions.

“ We are very pleased to welcome Arnaud Moussatoff to Franklin. His recognised expertise in turnaround situations, his positioning alongside company directors, combined with his knowledge of financial matters and his close relationships with investment funds, naturally complement the expertise developed by our team since its creation in 2020. Arnaud and I share the same approach to our profession and a common ambition: to participate in defining our clients’ legal and financial strategy and to support them at every stage of their projects. Our clients come to us seeking comprehensive solutions. With two partners and eight lawyers, our Restructuring department has the critical mass required to assist our clients in the most complex situations, including internationally, and confirms the firm’s ambition in this practice area.” explains Numa Rengot, the partner in charge of Franklin’s Restructuring department.

Arnaud Moussatoff adds: “I wanted to join a leading independent French firm in its market, offering a coherent, high-end range of services and driven by a genuine culture of teamwork. This combination provides the agility and entrepreneurial freedom required to develop a demanding restructuring practice. The team established by Numa Rengot is recognised for its expertise in this field, and the synergies with the firm’s areas of expertise are very strong. The complementary skills on offer are essential to managing increasingly complex restructuring matters, both in terms of their issues and their international dimension. We share the ambition of continuing to build a leading practice together and of supporting our clients on transactions of increasing scale.”
