Franklin advises Altice on the acquisition of Tricom and Global Interlink

The Altice group has signed an agreement to acquire Tricom and Global Interlink (Tricom) from Hispaniola Telecom Holdings, a company controlled by Amzak Capital Management and Inversiones Bahia.

Founded in 1988, Tricom is the third largest telephone operator in the Dominican Republic and one of only two able to provide services ranging from cable television to internet access, as well as fixed and wireless telephony. With this move, Altice is strengthening its presence in the Caribbean after its acquisition of Le Câble (Martinique and Guadeloupe) at the end of 2008 and of Outremer Telecom (Martinique, Guadeloupe, French Guyana) in August 2013.

Franklin, represented by partner Alexandre Marque and Of Counsel Magali Masson and Christian Sauer, advised Altice on this transaction, having previously advised the group on its acquisition of Outremer Telecom and group Le Câble in the Caribbean. Franklin was assisted by local counsel Castillo & Castillo (Tania and Praxedes J. Castillo) in the Dominican Republic, and Ropes & Gray (partner Christopher Rile and Shaw Kaneyasu-Speck) in New York.
