Alexandre Marque rejoins Franklin to co-lead the Corporate – M&A – Private Equity practice.

Former Altice General Counsel Alexandre Marque has rejoined Franklin, the firm he co-founded in 2000, where he will head up the Corporate – M&APrivate Equity practice alongside Yam Atallah.

It felt right to return to Franklin and reunite with my historical partners as the firm is ushering in a new era and expanding its breadth of practice. I am rejoining a firm that is stronger for having added new expertise to its Corporate practice group and even more for having brought in talented and driven new partners. Franklin has always attracted highly skilled lawyers looking for a vibrant, independent law firm where their talent can flourish and thrive. Now is the right time to relaunch our iconic brand”, Alexandre Marque said.

Alexandre Marque focuses his practice on advising French and international corporations, investment funds and financial institutions on mergers, acquisitions and private equity transactions, as well as capital, industrial and commercial tie-ups. He also has particular strength in securities law and stock exchange regulations in the context of takeover bids, public offerings and private investments. Alexandre Marque also has a wealth of experience advising on the privatization of state-owned entities on behalf of the French government, private investors, or the entities themselves.

Admitted to practice in Paris in 1986, Alexandre Marque worked in several Corporate M&A practices before co-founding Franklin in 2000. Having advised the Altice group since its inception, he joined them as Global General Counsel in 2015. A noted “key individual” and dealmaker, he was brought in to build out the group he had helped create and to handle significant, high-profile transactions following the acquisition of SFR. As in-house counsel, he worked on the group’s expansion and IPO in the United States and on the development of its media business, in line with Patrick Drahi’s content and media convergence strategy. In 2018, he left the group to become an independent M&A Consultant advising on high-stakes deals and strategic alliances.

His return marks a new stage in Franklin’s relaunch. Alexandre Marque’s wealth of experience handling major cross-border M&As and advising foreign companies fits perfectly with the firm’s strong international focus.

Commenting on the reunion, Franklin’s partners said “We are delighted to welcome Alexandre back to the firm. His extensive M&A expertise, combined with his in-house experience with a market-leading group will be a highly valued asset to our clients.
