Franklin bolsters its Banking & Finance practice with the addition of a new partner, Stéphan Alamowitch

Franklin has announced the addition of a new partner, Stéphan Alamowitch, to its Banking & Finance practice. He is joined by a team of 4 associates that includes Mathilde Monot and Lovejoy Padmore.

Admitted to practice in Paris in 1989, Stéphan Alamowitch has more than 20 years of experience advising a high-end clientele composed primarily of large French and international industrial borrowers, issuers, asset managers and lenders, including several international banks, as well as Fintechs. His practice is primarily focused on Europe, the United States and Sub-Saharan Africa.

He specializes in credit and structured finance, mostly asset-backed (including complex securitization and leasing transactions) and acquisition finance, through loans or bond issues, occasionally seeking deconsolidation under IRFS or US GAAP. He also advises on international projects financed by the EBRD or other development banks. Most notably, in the last 18 months, his team has advised the Orange group on reverse factoring and securitization deals alongside Bourbon group subordinated bondholders, and served as counsel to the African Guarantee Fund, applying their expertise to payment services in France and West Africa.

Commenting on the move, Stéphan Alamowitch said: “I am excited to join Franklin, a firm I have known for a very long time, having worked closely with them back when I was a Finance partner at ORRICK. Over time, I have built close friendships with many of the firm’s partners. Our combined expertise and the obvious synergies with the firm’s Corporate, Public Law and Public Affairs teams will be invaluable to our clients.”

Sharing his enthusiasm, Franklin’s partners said: “We are delighted to welcome Stéphan, with whom we have worked on numerous high-stakes matters. Beyond our friendship and personal bond, we are very proud to welcome such an esteemed attorney to our firm.”
