Jean-Christophe Bouchard co-chairs the Tax Department with Jérôme Barré and chairs the Real Estate Practice.
After working five years for KMPG as a financial auditor, Jean-Christophe Bouchard joined Gide Loyrette Nouel as a French tax lawyer and, following four years at Gide, joined Arthur Andersen International as a tax lawyer where he became a partner in 2001.
A partner with Franklin since 2002, Jean-Christophe Bouchard created the Firm’s Tax Department and has developed a leading practice assisting clients in the tax aspects of mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions but also tax consolidation and tax planning. His clients include French and international listed and private corporations, investment funds and financial institutions. Jean-Christophe Bouchard also provides tax investigation and tax litigation support to the Firm’s clients.
The Real Estate Practice advises real estate investment trusts, asset managers, corporations and public entities in the following areas: rental property management, real estate financing, construction, real estate development and town planning law, real estate tax and environment law. Its expertise spans all real estate sectors and types of property ( offices, hotels, housing, warehouses, retail shops, shopping centers and retail parks, business and office parks, apartment buildings, clinics).
Jean-Christophe Bouchard is a frequent author of articles for Option Finance magazine and a RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) member.
